The premiere of the second season of the popular reality TV show, ‘The Real Housewives of Lagos’, held at the Filmhouse Cinemas IMAX, Lekki, Lagos, last weekend, and it was attended by many notable personalities in the entertainment industry, as well as fashion, beauty and lifestyle influencers.
Hosted by a media personality, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi, the theme of the event was ‘Eko royalty’, and the cast of reality show— Chioma Ikokwu, Iyabo Ojo, Laura Ikeji-Kanu; and newbies— Faith Morey and Tania Omotayo, graced the red carpet in elegant outfits.
Guests also had the opportunity to watch the first episode of the season, which premiered exclusively on streaming platform, Showmax, on Friday, September 29, 2023.
Following the screening of the first episode, the cast sat down with Olateru-Olagbegi, as they shared their thoughts on how they felt to be part of the season.
One of the new ‘housewives’, Faith Morey, said, “The franchise is a huge platform, so I obviously wanted to be part of it. I was so glad when I got that call.”
On her part, Tania Omotayo said, “I am true to myself. Nothing about me is fake or rented.”
Returning cast members, Chioma Ikokwu and Iyabo Ojo, equally expressed their excitement about being part of the show for a second season, and hinted that fans should expect to see more of their lives and loves.
Speaking on what viewers should expect from the new season, the Managing Director of Livespot 360, Tiwa Medubi, said, “All I am going to say is that episode one is all the sneak peek you need. There was the highest level of fashion, friendship, and bickering, because that is what happens when you put people in the same space. But most of all, these women allowed us into the vulnerable parts of their lives.”
Guests at the premiere included stars from some Showmax Originals, such as Uzoamaka Onuoha (Diiche), Iremide Ademide and Martha Ehinome (Wura), and Comfort Booth, Princess Umeh-Ubaka, aka Princess Jecoco, and Samantha Homossany (The Real Housewives of Abuja).
Other guests were Efa Iwara, Idia Aisien, Akah Nnani, Toke Makinwa, Do2Dtun, Simi Drey, Denrele Edun, KieKie, Uti Nwachukwu, Beauty Tukura, Diane Russet, Sheggz Olu, Modella, Kim Oprah, and Yemi Cregx.
