The singer was slated to thrill fans at the “Tiwa Savage and Friends” show which was billed to be held on the 26th of November. The performance will make Savage the first female Afrobeats artiste to headline an event at the 13,000-capacity arena.
However, the mother-of-one announced via her Instagram page on Tuesday that the show will be postponed due to medical issues. Savage disclosed that she has been battling a “virus” and was placed on “vocal rest” for the next few months.
“To my dear Savage Soldiers, I’ve been fighting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next few months,” she wrote in the statement.
She added, “I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances including my first-ever headline arena show in London.”
The “Somebody’s Son” crooner said she was “heartbroken and devastated” but needed to take the rest to “save what’s left” of her voice.
“I’m so sorry. I love you all and promise to be back performing once. I’m fully healed,” she wrote.
Savage has had an impressive run in 2023 with several hit songs and collaborations. Most notably, she performed at the coronation ceremony of the British monarch, King Charles which was held in May 2023.
