The Federal Government and IHS Nigeria have collaborated to establish a technical talent learning communities across the country.
This is in support of the recently launched Three Million Technical Talent initiative by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. According to the government, the three-year partnership with IHS Nigeria will facilitate the setting up of learning communities in Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT, and provide opportunities for the Nigerians engaged in the 3MTT to gather weekly, learn, collaborate, and build projects.
In a statement signed by the Head (Press and Public Relations) of the ministry, Ekaete Umo, the government clarified that under this partnership, IHS Nigeria will provide financial support and industry expertise to the initiative.
In a LinkedIn post, the Minister of Communications, Innovations & Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, noted that the funding provided by IHS Nigeria will boost the ministry’s efforts to generate a pipeline of technical talent in the country.
He said, “I am excited to announce a N1 Billion partnership between the @FMoCDE and IHS Towers to establish the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Learning Community.
“This initiative, which is in support of our recently launched 3MTT programme, will facilitate the set up of learning communities in the 36 states and the FCT. The N1billion funding from IHS Towers also includes a commitment to paying the salaries of 37 dedicated learning community managers for each location for the next 3 years.”
