On Sunday night, terrorists attacked Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing five persons and injuring at least twelve others.
Around 10 p.m., there was an incident that resulted in the kidnapping of five residents as well.
A few locals disclosed that a large group of terrorists broke into the area and started firing randomly.
The inhabitants, who pleaded for their anonymity, said that because there were security personnel and vigilantes in the town, the terrorists started their attack from the outside and worked their way inside, where they increased their attacks.
One of the residents disclosed, “The casualties would have been more if not for the efforts of the security operatives and the Vigilante.”
While security personnel and vigilantes were on patrol there on Monday morning, they added, things were largely quiet.
When Abubakar Aliyu, the state police command’s spokesperson, was contacted, the development was confirmed.
He said, “The incident occurred at 10 p.m. We have already commenced investigation while our men are on top of the situation there.”
