This is just as he said the Army has done “fantastically well” in tackling insecurity.
The minister added that the ministry had taken note of the challenges confronting the military, adding that efforts would be made to address them.
Badaru spoke during his visit to the Nigerian Army Headquarters in Abuja.
Speaking after he was briefed on the operational activities of the Army, Badaru assured the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, that President Bola Tinubu would give the Army the needed support to strengthen its operations.
He urged the Army to sustain the tempo currently being witnessed across the various theatres of operations until peace returns to many parts of the country.
Badaru said, “We are aware of the equipment, combat enabler, a manpower need among others that will enable you to effectively combat oil theft, and insurgency among others. The FG will provide what you need to bring an end to insecurity.
“The President will do it. He has never denied our requests. But we must continue to show results. You have done fantastically well. Continue to do your best till peace returns.”
On his part, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja promised that the current onslaught on terrorists and other criminal elements would be sustained.
He said, “The visible intervention of the government has impacted positively our operations. We will keep the momentum and ensure we defeat insecurity. “
