Dele Momodu
Nigerian journalist cum politician, Dele Momodu has reacted to the affirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s victory by the Supreme Court.
He stated that those who wish to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) can do so while those who wish to remain in the opposition party are also free to do so.
According to him, any decision taken by Nigerians in that regard is an exercise of their fundamental human right.
Momodu, however, disclosed that he has chosen to remain in the opposition with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) just as he has been for the past forty years.
Taking to his account on the X platform shortly after the Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the appeal by the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu, Momodu wrote: “After all electoral processes have been completed and foreclosed, those who want/wish to join the ruling government, for “PATRIOTIC” reasons are welcome to do so, while those who prefer to remain in opposition are also free to exercise their fundamental rights. After all, there’s nothing “unpatriotic” about being in credible opposition.
On a personal note, I humbly prefer to remain in opposition as I have been in the past 40 years… GOD bless the Federal Republic of NIGERIA…”
