I believe in destiny. God’s purpose in the life of men shall forever stand. No one can add to the works of His hands, and none can take away from the same. These things our Maker does so that all men must fear before Him. Destiny, my friends, is not just a mere desire of a man or woman. It is not a chain of landmark events credited to a man because he has a long list of academic degrees to his name. Destiny is what our God has predetermined to make happen for a man whether his haters and hounds like it or not.
It is what God has vowed to release as part of his pre-packaged milk and honey. Some of these things may include bad experiences like betrayals from friends and bruising from foes. They may include a web of lies told against you and vitriol unleashed without a cause. All of these are the necessary paved and asphalted roads that will take you to your destination where your destiny is fulfilled.
Fighting a man or woman of destiny is fighting God of destiny. It is a fight homo-sapiens will never win. A man I read about must have been the only child of his parents. We don’t know for sure his biological siblings. His father is a mystery, so is the mother who gave birth to him. We aren’t certain he was tutored in any organised educational system early in life. Although he sounds well-schooled and navigates intellectual terrains better than many who despise him, we cannot boldly beat our chests that the four walls of any classroom were his familiar territories. But he is charismatic and cerebrally gifted. In his earlier life, he worked all manner of filthy jobs at home. And abroad, he worked on servile assignments for others. But that was not who he was. He was king! And all through his turbulent life, he knew this to be the fact that many around him didn’t believe in. But the desire to be crowned burned hot in his spirit. Then one day, coronation came calling. It shocked many and angered not a few. Despite human obstructions and spiritual obstacles, he became king. Today’s lowly position is not always an indication of where God is taking you. Your situation is not always your destination. It is destiny. I believe in destiny.
The fulfilment of destiny exalts God and abases man. It makes all men low before God, but high and strong before kings. It is found on a basis of eternal rock, one absolute Sovereign, to whose will there is no limit, but it levels all other sovereigns in the dust. Destiny extinguishes fear, makes victory certain, inspires enthusiasm, and makes both the heart and the arm strong. Against a man of destiny, try all the tricks in your arsenal, pull all the assaulting strings in your petrifying pouch, swing thousands of swords, and brandish a billion bayonets and watch as your stratagems fail and fall flat. Cut the man of destiny and cause him to bleed. Hound him and pressure him to haemorrhage. When destiny gives its supreme judgment, the man of destiny fails and flails not. Victory in the aftermath tastes sweeter than honey. I believe that all things work together for good to them that love God and to them that have been called according to His purpose. I believe in the purpose and will of God for every man, woman, and child no matter how tough life is right now.
If you believe you are a man or woman of destiny, I ask this question. Are you in the trenches of struggles right now? If you are, do not worry. We all experience differing shades of struggle. Struggles began with time. Our first parents struggled. Their closest neighbour was the serpent who deployed subtlety and made them do what they had no business doing. The father of the father of many nations struggled. His plan was to go to Canaan, but he died in Haran. The father of many nations struggled. It took him forever to have a child. And after the child was born, God asked him to sacrifice the gift he had waited long for.
The gift himself struggled so did his son whose name was changed, and his grandson who dreamed great dreams. Master Messiah struggled as a human. Humans struggle. I believe that liberation from God is often entombed in the womb of tribulation. But I believe that a bundle of joy of the Lord comes from the bundles of hydra-headed struggles of life that men go through. I believe that joy comes in the morning after an enduring weeping that seeps through the night. I believe in much gain after pain.
I believe in rising after falling, breaking through after breakdown, laughter after weeping, singing after heavy sighing, and dancing after bouts of pain pangs. Some struggles in life are not only necessary, but desirable. They are sometimes the best thing that can ever happen to a precious choice and man of destiny. Some of the not too-befitting positions you’ve found yourself today may be training grounds for a kingly tomorrow.
Some dirty work you do today may be the detoxifying detergent that will clean up the path and life as you stride into your greater future. So, pay attention to events happening to you now in your low estate. Learn all you can. Meet all the people you can. And bless others as much as you can. When enemies rise like a flood to swallow you up and truncate your destiny, the ones you bless today may become your foot soldiers tomorrow in life’s wars that you did not start.
When struggles come, they train, tutor, and teach you some things that you may not necessarily learn in pleasant times and seasons of comfort. There is nothing unholy about struggle: it is part of life. Before you run into the freeway of testimonies, you must go through the byways of tests. Testimonies are often end results of tests.
Success often becomes the end result of struggle. If you find yourself in a situation where you fight to keep your head above the waters of life, and each day, week, month, or year, you are not where you want to be; but you are not where you used to be, your struggle is just like a woman’s nine-month pregnancy that has an expected delivery date. Learn this life truth, man, or woman of destiny. When destiny gives a supreme judgment, it is sweeter than honey. I believe in destiny. It always wins. And now, I stoutly believe that destiny can give a supreme judgment that none can appeal. Congratulations, man of destiny.
