FATE Foundation, a leading enterprise development organisation, has appointed Amaka Nwaokolo as the inaugural director of The FATE Institute.
The Foundation said in a statement on Tuesday that Amaka was previously the Senior Programmes Manager and Head of The FATE Institute, and brought 15 years of extensive experience in the private and social sectors.
‘The FATE Institute, FATE Foundation’s research and policy division, is dedicated to pioneering innovative thinking and providing platforms for idea exchange and problem-solving in the realm of sustainable entrepreneurship in Nigeria,” the statement said.
It said Amaka’s leadership and strategic vision had been instrumental in propelling The FATE Institute to new heights, focusing on thought leadership, ecosystem mapping, and policy advocacy within the entrepreneurship sector.
‘Amaka’s responsibilities extend to representing The FATE Institute in vital stakeholder groups such as the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, where she serves as the co-facilitator on the MSME Community of Practice,” she said.
She had been a driving force behind the Institute’s involvement in key policy initiatives, including taxation, the buy-made-in-Nigeria campaign, and the Nigeria Startup Bill (2022).
Expressing her excitement about the new role, Amaka stated, “Joining the board of directors at FATE Foundation is both a humbling experience and the commencement of an exciting new phase for me.
“As director of The FATE Institute, I look forward to leading and implementing the strategy to enable innovative thinking and platforms that will facilitate idea exchange and problem-solving around entrepreneurship nationally and regionally.”
