Super Eagles duo Alex Iwobi and Frank Onyeka made landmark appearances for their respective Premier League clubs on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Iwobi was handed his second league start for Fulham in the Cottagers 1-0 loss at home to Manchester United.
Bruno Fernandes scored a 91st-minute winner against Fulham to ease the pressure on Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
United looked to be heading for another game without a win or a goal when Fernandes drilled low past Bernd Leno.
The game was Iwobi’s 230th appearance since he made his EPL debut in 2016 against Swansea.
According to Whoscored, the 26-year-old had three shots in the game which was the fourth highest after Willian, Harry Wilson and Bruno Fernandes.
He also has a pass accuracy of 91 per cent, a total of four dribbles and was rated 7.17 by the statistics websites.
Onyeka on his part, posted a decent performance for Brentford who defeated West Ham 3-2 in a pulsating London derby at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Nigerian midfielder replaced Mads Roerslev in the starting line up for his second start of the season – his ninth league game of the season and his 50th appearance in the Premier League but his search for his first goal continues.
He started the encounter alongside the duo Christian Norgaard and Mathias Jensen in midfield.
The 25-year-old made an assist for Neal Maupay to open the scoring in the first half, heading home his first goal since returning to the club in the summer transfer window.
Onyeka half-volley looked to be heading off target, before Maupay intervened and headed home from close range.
The goal ended a run of 45 Premier League appearances without a goal – his last strike had come for Everton, also against West Ham, in September 2022.
The victory means Brentford have won all five of their Premier League meetings with West Ham.
