The Director General Bureau of Public Procurement, Mamma Ahmadu, has urged the participants of the 2023 Continuous Procurement Capacity Development Training Programme to always ensure integrity and transparency in their procurement dealings.
According to a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Information and Head Media of the Bureau of Public Procurement, Mrs Janet McDickson, stated this after three-week strategic capacity training for procurement officers.
Amadu, who was represented by the Director of Legal in the Bureau of Public Procurement, Mr Olusegun Omotola, commended the zeal exhibited during the 3-weeks capacity training and urged them not to hold back their knowledge.
He urged the procurement officers to positively impact their different organisations, enabling them to get better results in the procurement process and improve the economy.
Earlier, the Director of Research Training and Strategic Planning in the Bureau, Mr Adebowale Adedokun, warned the participants against any improper behaviour or action inimical to the exam guidelines, pointing out that they should apply what they were taught during their training.
“The exam serves a triple purpose: to prepare participants for their roles as procurement officers in achieving organisational objectives, evaluate their procurement process knowledge, and formally induct them into the procurement cadre,” the director said.
