The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the November 11 governorship election in Imo State, Bright Ekwebelem, has said that his administration will restore peace in the state if elected, adding that he has the best plans for the state.
Speaking to journalists in Owerri on Monday ahead of the election, Ekwebelem said security, peace and conflict resolution, agricultural revolution, employment and industrialisation were topmost on his plans for the state.
He said he was bringing himself forward to rescue the state as of a time insecurity had battered the state.
Noting that no economy would strive without security, Ekwebelem said that the SDP administration in the state would invest heavily in security and manpower training and the provision of jobs for the teeming youths of the state.
According to him, his administration would engage negotiators who would engage non-state actors to drop their guns and embrace the government plans for a secured state.
He said, “INEC should ensure that nobody is disenfranchised in this election. INEC should restore its confidence level in the hearts of the electorate. This election should be free and fair and I am confident that the SDP will win the election.
“I have the best plans for our state, ranging from security, agricultural revolution, employment, tourism, industrialisation, education, health, peace and conflict resolution. The young people should know it is our time. Come out en masse and vote for the SDP on Saturday.”
