Recall that Hilda Baci made Nigerians proud in June when she achieved the record with a total time of 93 hours and 11 minutes, surpassing Indian chef Lata Tondon’s previous record of 87 hours and 45 minutes.
Regrettably, barely six months after her remarkable feat, an Irish chef, identified as Alan Fisher, has broken her record by achieving a total time of 119 hours and 57 minutes, which is over 24 hours longer than Hilda’s previous record.
Guinness World Record took to their official social media handle to announce the update on Tuesday, November 7.
Interestingly, Alan didn’t only break the cooking record, but also claimed the record for the longest baking marathon by an individual, with a time of 47 hours, 21 minutes.

This has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians, with some citing claims that one must wait at least one year before applying to break a new record.
However, Guinness World Records stated that this was merely a rumor and clarified that records can be broken at any time.
