Mutfwang, who presented the proposal to the state lawmakers on Tuesday during their plenary at the House of Assembly complex in Jos said the budget tagged the “Budget of New Beginning” is made up of N157.5 billion as recurrent expenditure while N137.8 billion is for the capital expenditure.
Mutfwang said, “The 2024 total budget size shows an increase of N145,483,233,873.00 only over the 2023 approved budget.
“The budget is aimed at laying a solid foundation for the Peace and Prosperity of Plateau State.
“The vision and mission of the present administration are to intervene in the area of security, Agriculture, human capital development, public health, industrialisation and aggressive revenue generation.”
He thanked the people for their continued support of his administration and assured them that his administration was committed to repositioning the state for the good of all.
Mutfwang who urged the state lawmakers to pass the 2024 budget into law in good time to enable him to implement his people-oriented projects added, “I have directed all heads of MDAs to fully cooperate and comply with their various dates of budget defence and also to provide any relevant information that could facilitate the discussion. As I have always maintained, justice, equity and fairness shall continually be our watchwords.”
The Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Moses Sule, who presided over the plenary assured the governor that his colleagues would do justice on the budget in the interest of the people.
