The leadership of the two unions had embarked on the industrial action following an alleged assault on the NLC president, Joe Ajaero in Imo state.
The industrial action embarked on by the unions was in disobedience to an order of the National Industrial Court which restrained the unions and their affiliates from going on strike.
When our correspondent visited the FCT high court at 11:50 pm no court was sitting.
Two of the court registrars who spoke in confidence told our correspondent that this was in compliance with the unions’ directives.
“Court is not sitting today. We are on strike. It may continue until the issue is resolved, ” one of the registrars said.
However, the situation is different at the Federal High Court as there was no compliance with the directives from the labour leaders.
