Heartland football club of Owerri remain the only side in the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League without a win following another 2-2 draw at home against Bayelsa in a rescheduled match-day eight fixture on Wednesday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Bayelsa United came up with two goals in one minute in the closing stages of the game to deny the Naze Millionaires a desired win at home.
Promise Anyanwu put Heartland ahead in the first half and the advantage was doubled in the 75th minute by Ike Chinedu before their visitors responded through Nneoyi Ofem and Robert Mizo in the 83rd and 84th minute.
The result leaves both teams in the red zone of the table with Bayelsa United sitting in 19th with seven points while Heartland are bottom of the table with five points after eight matches.
Elsewhere in Gombe, a 17th-minute goal by Hilary Ekawu was enough for Doma United to get a 1-0 win over defending champions Enyimba at the Pantami Stadium, as the Savannah Tigers moved up to fourth on the table with 14 points.
Enyimba finished the game with 10 players after Daniel Daga was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 85th minute and the nine-time champions who have two more games at hand are still toiling to revive their campaign.
Finidi George’s side are 17th in the table and they host Lobi Stars in Aba on match-day nine.
