The order followed a motion brought before the court by an aggrieved chieftain of the party, Mr. Douglas Nwachukwu.
Nwachukwu prayed the court to stop Anyanwu from referring to himself as the National Secretary of the PDP.
The suit partly read, “An order of interlocutory injunction, restraining the first defendant, whether, by itself, the National Working Committee, the National Executive Committee, servants, agents, privies, or any other person howsoever described from recognising, accepting, or dealing with the second defendant (Anyanwu) as the National Secretary of the first defendant pending the determination of the substantive suit.”
In a Certified True Copy of the order obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday, the presiding judge, Justice M. M. Adamu, granted the prayers of the applicant.
“That an order of interlocutory injunction is hereby granted restraining the second defendant/respondent from parading himself or acting as the National Secretary of the first defendant pending the determination of the substantive suit,” Justice Adamu held.
He subsequently adjourned further hearings on the substantive suit till January 24, 2024.
