LearnStar has stated will unveil a digital platform to help bridge the country’s manpower gap.
According to the firm, in a release, the educational technology platform aims to drive economic transformation by providing widespread access to quality education, addressing the knowledge and skills gap not only in Africa but also globally.
It noted that the platform named after the firm would be launched in January 2024.
The Chief Executive Officer of LearnStar, Kshitij Sainani, explained that the platform was an e-learning destination tailored for creatives, professionals, and anyone seeking to acquire new skills.
“Learnstar offers an extensive curriculum of never-before-seen learning materials from celebrities and industry leaders for digital and non-digital creatives on a distraction-free and learning-optimized platform.
“Learnstar aims to provide credible, authentic, and standardized education on various topics, including business, entertainment, sports, hospitality, and much more, from professionals in the industry,” he said.
Sainani asserted that all the courses in the programme were not only built by celebrities, but also conducted by the A-listers in the entertainment, business, tech, and sport sectors, among others, to avail students of their vast experience.
He said some of the facilitators include celebrities such as Asa Asika, to coach on the music business; Swanky Jerry on fashion; Hilda Baci on cooking, and Wavy The Creator on how to launch as an artiste.
Sainani, who is an overseas education migration consultancy, said they came up with the idea to start the platform because education remains the solution to a wide range of problems the country faces today.
He noted that there was a huge gap in the creative side, and the platform aimed to help increase the literacy rate and employment level by two per cent in the next five years.
He said Learnstar would kick off with six subjects, adding one each month.
The curriculum, he pointed out, was produced after extensive discussions with the facilitators who also incorporated personal experience into the course.
Speaking further on the short course masterclasses, Sainani noted that the duration for each course varies between two to four hours.
He added that all courses were divided into different modules, and each module ranges from about 15 minutes to 20 minutes.
