According to Hilda, her win at the jollof faceoff competition involving her and a Ghanaian chef proves that Nigerian jollof better.
Adding that during the competition the Ghanaian chef she was competing against made his best representation of Ghanaian jollof, but it was basic.
The Nigerian chef who gained her popularity after breaking the Guinness World Record mentioned that she had tasted Ghana jollof before but it can not be compared to Nigerian jollof.
In her opinion, Nigerians are very intentional about building the flavors, like stock and spice to boast the quality of the jollof mix.
She added that Ghanaians tend to make the major base of their jollof rice with paste than the jollof mix and they do not smoke their jollof.
She said;
“Nigerian jollof is actually better than Ghana jollof, I have been to Ghana I have eaten the jollof, I have done a competition with a Ghanaian chef that made like for him that was like his best representation of Ghanaian jollof and I have seen recipes not one you guys have quite a number, with Nigerian jollof, Nigerians do not play about flavor building”
