A disc jockey, Olalemi Ibrahim, aka DJ Lemmy, says his song titled, Zekethe, is a campaign for happiness across the world.
He told Sunday Scoop that he wanted to make music that would cross borders and appeal to people all around the world, hence the title of the song, which means ‘happy dance’.
According to him, the song, which is a blend of amapiano and afrobeats, is a ‘campaign for happiness across the world.
Speaking on why he collaborated with a South African artiste, Jobe London; and Nigeria’s J-Weezy and DJ Flammzy, Lemmy said, “Working with these great talents, especially Jobe London, was mind-blowing. It was an amazing opportunity to team up, exchange ideas, and bring something truly one-of-a-kind into the world. It is a great feeling having one’s first song ever with one of South Africa’s biggest artistes. It was basically a dream come true for me.”
On how he felt when the song was played at the BBNaija (All Stars) party, he said, “I felt incredibly proud and excited when I heard my song playing live on the BBNaija All-stars show. It was like all the effort and creativity I put into the song was being enjoyed by such a large audience. Seeing the then housemates dancing to it made me proud.”
