This is contained in a statement by the Director of Public Enlightenment, Civil Service Commission, Musa Garba, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent on Friday.
According to Garba, the promotions were approved at the commission’s sitting, which took place recently.
He said that, in addition, 12 transfer cases and 47 deployment cases to various MDAs were also approved by the commission.
The statement further revealed that three disciplinary cases from different organisations were treated during the sitting.
“A total of 379 were promoted since the inauguration of the 23rd Commission in August this year; those transferred stood at 74, while those deployed to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies were 61.
“Others were change of cadre (two), change of name (one), and advancement (one), while the remaining three were disciplinary cases,” the statement read.
Garba therefore called on the promoted workers to reciprocate the gesture by maximising productivity to achieve the optimal result.
While thanking staff members of the commission for their commitment to ensuring the success of the exercise, the chairman of the CSC, Dr Shehu Minjibir, commended Governor Abba Yusuf for his commitment to improving the welfare of workers in the state.
In June, the state government approved the promotion of 117 senior officers at the various grade levels and cadres in the state civil service.
