This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman, House Committee on Housing, Women Affairs, Girl Child Entrepreneurship and Humanitarian Support Services, Hon. Bridget Anyafulu, copies of which were made available to journalists in Asaba on Monday.
The statement read, “The House committee would particularly welcome written contributions from interested organisations such as the Ministry of Women Affairs, Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development as well as the Ministry of Trade and Investment, Non-Governmental Organisations and the general public”.
It noted that “all memoranda which should be enclosed in sealed envelopes addressed to the Committee marked ‘Delta State Social Investment Programme Bill’ should be forwarded to the committee chairman’s office on or before Thursday, December 14, 2023.”
The statement further remarked that “the anticipated contributions should focus on key areas such as coordination and equitable distribution of resources for the achievement of poverty alleviation in the state as well as improvement of the socioeconomic conditions of citizens of the state with emphasis on the rural communities, physically challenged, orphans and underprivileged in the society”.
