The spirit of giving and nostalgia filled the air at the prestigious Command Day Secondary School Jos, Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Rukuba, Plateau State premises on Thursday, 14th December, 2023, as the revered 2003 set returned to mark their 20th year anniversary. Representing alumni from various corners of the nation and beyond, the occasion was not just a celebration but a testament to their commitment to the institution that shaped them.
In a heartfelt gesture to enrich the educational experience, the 2003 set extended their generosity with multiple contributions aimed at enhancing both the students’ and teachers’ journey within the school’s walls. The generous donations included 15 whiteboards destined for classrooms and laboratories, a thoughtful provision that aims to facilitate interactive learning environments.
Moreover, recognizing the importance of sports and team spirit, the Ex-Commandos presented a full set of 20 Football Jerseys, an encouragement to the school’s sports teams to aim for greatness and unity on the field.
Recognizing the dedication and hard work of the teaching staff, the 2003 set also provided refreshments to support the teachers’ end-of-term meeting, acknowledging their crucial role in shaping the future generation.
The visit was marked by an overwhelming display of gratitude from the school’s administration, notably Commandant Maj Ali, and other esteemed members of the school, who expressed their appreciation and shared words of encouragement.
The jubilant atmosphere extended to the students, whose excitement was palpable as they actively assisted in setting up and installing the newly acquired whiteboards, embracing the spirit of collaboration.
Among the esteemed guests was the representative of the Jos chapter of Ex-Commandos Association, Mr. Usman Shehu Ishaku, who graced the occasion, further solidifying the significance of the event.
