The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, has stressed the importance of adopting technology to drive the state’s revenue.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, Kamal Olowoshago, Agoro stated this at the weekend during the opening ceremony of a two-day retreat organised by the Ministry of Finance held at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, a statement said on Sunday.
The Head of Service also underscored the significance of developing a robust revenue drive initiative through strategic partnerships and collaborations.
“We must be smart, innovative and proactive in our approach to driving revenue in our various MDAs. Embracing technological advancements and taking time to study market trends for perfect understanding and anticipation of customers’ needs will be integral to success in this regard.
“As a government establishment, to have a successful revenue drive, we must endeavour to make data-driven and effective decision-making top priority, as strategic use of data will enhance our ability to identify opportunities, optimise processes and enable us to stay ahead of the competition because our ability to adapt and thrive hinges on our strategic approach to revenue generation,” he said.
Speaking earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mr Hundogan Temitope, stressed that Lagos State, being the most populated state in Nigeria with over 22 million residents, put a lot of pressure on infrastructures such as roads, bridges and other facilities which require the state to generate more revenues for regular maintenance of the structures.
