Audi gave the order in a statement signed by the NSCDC spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, on Monday.
Addressing his officers, the CG noted that “proper checks and accountability must be enforced in a hierarchical order.”
Audi added that that law and order must be maintained in synergy with sister agencies, noting that, “All efforts must be made in the protection of critical national assets and Infrastructure.”
While surveillance is to be redoubled before and after the Yuletide, the CG also directed increased vehicular and foot patrols in all the 774 Local Government Areas across the federation to ensure the physical security of officers and men of the Corps.
He added, “There should be searchlights on our oil and power installations, railways, roads and bridges as well as schools to prevent them from being vandalized and or attacked by criminal elements whose plot is to sabotage the country’s effort to greatness.”
