It said this would be achieved by strengthening laws that will improve ease of doing business in the country.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Capital Market, Senator Osita Izunaso, made the promise during the Hendai Smart City Business Opportunities presentation and Board of Directors inauguration on Monday in Abuja.
Izunaso said “As Senate and as a public institution, our job is to provide an enabling environment for the private sector to thrive, that we are going to do by strengthening our legislation that will make the ease of business in Nigeria, very easy, very affordable and seamless.
“In most countries of the world, you can transact any business you want to do online. You don’t even need to be physically present to register a company in most countries or sign a contract, but today we have our bottleneck when we strengthen our legal institutions we should be able to get a better way of enhancing business in Nigeria.
“The project is innovative, futuristic, and the final destination of investment within Nigeria.”
Hendai Investment Limited’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Owoediinyene Essien, said now is the time for Nigerians to support government’s efforts to provide opportunities for citizens to turn around the nation’s economic fortunes.
Essien said, “This is what Nigeria needs at this point, so, we have to see how we can put in our best to support the government to empower the citizens of the country and to change the economic narrative of the country.”
