PUNCH METRO reported that Obafaiye, was promoted to the position of the Deputy Commandant-General of the NSCDC by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
He was honored with two of his colleagues as deputy commandants-general: Fasiu Adeyinka, ex-Kwara commandant, and Raji, ex-Imo commandant.
Following his promotion, it was observed that he was not officially knitted for the new position.
While reacting to this during a live interview on Channels TV, he explained that he is now retired.
He said, “The president magnanimously approved, my minister of Interior as well, my now Oga at the top, the commandant general, the trio agreed that let him go home with this rank even after retirement”.
He also revealed that the ‘Oga at the Top’, incident did not have significant negative effect on him as he chose to continue with his duties, especially with the media after that. READ MORE
