The monarch gave the charge when the pro tem executive members of the newly formed Malumfashi Development Association led by its chairman, Salisu Bawa, paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Malumfashi on Tuesday.
The traditional ruler also stressed the need for selfless service for the community to enhance economic growth and development, especially at the grassroots.
He said, “There is a need for the people in the community to enhance the development of Malumfashi town because the government alone cannot shoulder the full responsibility.
“The town (Malumfashi) has people living within and outside the state who can contribute their quota towards the socio-economic development of the people in the town.
“Malumfashi is known for its highly committed industrious people who are living peacefully in other states pursuing their legitimate businesses and other things.”
The Galadima of Katsina urged MADA officials to be focused on achieving its set objectives while calling on them to promote peace and live above board for the development of the local government area.
“For me, community development is about trying to improve the lives of the people and the community in general through community-oriented programmes,” he said.
He commended the association’s executive members for their desire and commitment towards the town’s development.
Earlier, the MADA interim chairman, said the purpose of the visit was to brief the monarch on the formation of the association and its objectives.
He told the traditional ruler that the association’s membership comprises civil servants in active service, retired civil servants as well as businessmen and women among others.
The association’s officials had paid a similar visit to the Chairman, Malumfashi Local Government, Maharazu Dayi, where they explained the motive behind the formation of the association.
A list of officials, the constitution and the three-year Action Plan of MADA were also presented to the District Head and the council chairman during the courtesy visits for their perusal.
