It was a day of immense joy for a real estate practitioner and businessman, Yemi Lawal, as he gave out his daughter, Olayemi’s hand in marriage to her groom, Olanrewaju, in Lagos recently.
Lawal, who owns Seagle Group of Companies, was joined by many of his high-profile friends, associates and family members at the Nikkah, which won’t be forgotten in a hurry by those who attended.
The Nikkah held at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, and was followed by a reception at the Landmark Event Centre, also on the island.
President Bola Tinubu, who was represented by his Chief of Staff and a former Speaker of the House Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, sent his well-wishes to the elated couple as they began their matrimonial journey.
Indeed, the array of guests at the event was a testament to the goodwill and respect the bride’s father enjoys, in different sectors.
Ace juju music icons— King Sunny Ade and Ebenezer Obey— were also hand to entertain guests with their evergreen songs, and commanding stage presence.
It was apparent that no expense was spared in organising the event, as guests were treated to choice drinks and food. One of the highlights of the event was the champagne, which were brought into the venue in flûtes on trays.
Some of the distinguished guests in attendance were the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun; a former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; a business mogul Adebutu Kessington (Baba Ijebu), and his son, Ladi; Senator Musiliu Obanikoro; Reverend Esther Ajayi among others; and their presence undoubtedly added panache to the event.
Others were a juju singer, Ayo Balogun; Chairman, Address Homes Limited, Bisi Onasanya; and a United Kingdom-based real estate practitioner, Yemi Edun.
Indeed, for many who attended, the event was a classy way for them to end the year.
