The government of Imo State has revealed details about the second inauguration of Senator Hope Uzodimma as the governor of the state.
Briefing journalists on Thursday on the event that would take place on January 15, 2024, the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, said that the governor had set up a 100-member committee for the second term inauguration.
He said, “The 100-member committee was set up by Governor Uzodimma to oversee the success of the occasion.
“The committee has been working round the clock to realise a seamless swearing-in ceremony.”
According to him, a former senator representing Imo East senatorial district, Senator Chris Anyanwu, would chair the event.
Emelumba also said dignitaries nationwide and beyond would be expected to grace the occasion, including Imolites who voted the governor en-masse.
He said, “The Imo people are eager to be part of the celebration because given the fact that they gave the governor an unprecedented massive vote support in the November 11, 2023 election which saw him winning the 27 local government areas of the state, a feat that has never been recorded in the history of the state.”
He said the people voted for Uzodimma due to massive infrastructural provision, empowerment of youths and touching of many laudable programmes in the state.
He added, “The people believe that the next four years will be better for them.”
