She took over from ACG Francisca Dakat as the 22nd Comptroller of Immigration Service, Akwa Ibom State.
A statement from the Assistant Superintendent of Immigration, Q J Miller, on Friday said the official handing over and taking over formalities took place on Wednesday, at the State Command Headquarters, Uyo.
According to the statement, Damisa-Babson holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Abuja and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language from the University of Maiduguri.
An indigene of Borno State, and member of the 24th Superintendent Basic Course and 11th Command and Staff College Course, CIS Damisa-Babson, was appointed into the Service in the year 1989 and grown through the ranks, serving in various capacities in different states of the Federation, including Lagos State, Kogi State, Anambra State, Service Headquarters, Abuja, before her recent redeployment as Comptroller, Akwa Ibom State.
In her maiden speech to Officers and Men of the Command, CIS Damisa-Babson said that the Command under her predecessor witnessed a landmark transformation and prudent management of human and material resources, adding that her redeployment to the state is a call for a continued positive change that will make a difference towards fulfilling the constitutional responsibilities of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
While pledging to uphold the values of the Service, Damisa-Babson charged Officers to rededicate themselves to duties, to achieve effective service delivery.
Meanwhile, PUNCH Online earlier in December 2023 reported that President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Adepoju Wura-Ola as the substantive Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Wura-Ola had been in an acting capacity since June 1, 2023.
