A United States of America-based Nigerian filmmaker, Ola Yusuf, is set to trill movie lovers with a movie series titled, Godmother’.
In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the filmmaker noted that he worked with Captain Degzy, a co-director of the blockbuster movie, ‘A Tribe Called Judah’.
Yusuf revealed that the five-part series is a true life story which revolves around Nigerian politics, unionism, cultism and power shift, as well as power dynamics on campus.
He said, “We have very unique stories and talents that the world is waiting to see. That is what brought me to Nigeria. I am trying to sell the Nigerian and African story to the world at large.
“The story will reveal the corruption among the student union government, and corruption within the decision-makers in schools.
“We have a wide range of talents on this project and it is a story that Nigerians have never seen before. I have complete confidence in my team.”
The graduate of the University of Lagos added that though the story happened in 2006, the choice of location for the production is the University of Ibadan, because of its unique architectural structures that actually depict an era.
