The Old Student’s Association, Command Day Secondary School (CDSSJ), Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Rukuba, Jos, (Lagos Chapter), popularly known as Ex-Commandos Association, has elected new Executives.
In a show of unity and commitment to the ideals of the Ex-Commandos Association, elections were held to usher in a new executives.
The elections, overseen by an Electoral Committee chaired by Taofeeq Adeoshun of set 1986 and facilitated by Maurice Ita of set 1989 and Zainab Mohammed of set 1994, held on Saturday, 10th February 2024 at Command Day Secondary School Ikeja in Ikeja Cantonment.
The newly elected executives, which emerged unopposed in most positions, comprises individuals with a wealth of experience and dedication to the association.
They include Ahua Stephen (Set 1995) – Chairman; Femi Taiwo-Stone (Set 1986) as Vice Chairman; Agbo Joseph Adai (Set 2001) – as General Secretary and Rogers Robson (Set 2008) – as the Financial Secretary.
Others include Okolie Edirin Beauty (Set 1989) – as the Auditor ; Adejoh Gloria (Set 1994) – as the Treasurer while Muyiwa Fakolujo (Set 1996) – was elected as the Public Relations Officer. Also Philomena Onate (Set 2006) – emerged as Assistant Secretary and Akiga Caroline (Set 1992) – as the Welfare Officer.
Notably, the position of Treasurer saw a spirited contest between Gloria Adejoh and Edirin Okolie, with Gloria emerging victorious with 12 votes against Edirin’s eight.
However, in solidarity and cooperation, the Congress unanimously requested Edirin to assume the role of Auditor, which she graciously accepted.
Witnessed by WO M.Adeola, RSM, CDSS Ikeja and Sgt. O. Joseph, as observers, the elections proceeded smoothly, reflecting the chapter’s commitment to democratic processes and inclusivity.
In his congratulatory message, the National President of the Ex-Commandos Association, Emmanuel Onyeme, commended the Lagos Chapter for their dedication and urged the new executive committee to uphold the association’s standards, foster unity, and ensure an all-inclusive governance approach.
The newly elected Lagos Chapter Chairman, Steve Ahua on behalf of the executives expressed gratitude to the members of the Lagos Chapter for their unwavering support and pledged to serve diligently in their respective capacities, furthering the mission and values of the Ex-Commandos Association.
With the election, the stage is set for the Lagos Chapter to embark on a new chapter of growth, solidarity, and impactful service under the leadership of the newly elected executives.
