Nigerian music superstar, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has thrown a glaring shade at his colleague Davido while responding to one of the singer’s fans on Twitter.
It all started after Nigeria lost to Côte d’Ivoire in the AFCON final on Sunday, February 12. A Twitter user shared a funny video about how Burna Boy would react when Ivorians come to claim him as their own owing to their AFCON win.
This is in line with the online joke among football lovers about winning treasures or ‘war spoils’ belowing to other countries if they win a match. For example, Nigerians playfully claimed the right to Amapiano after beating South Africa in the semifinals.
In this case, Burna Boy was jokingly claimed by Ivorians. Interestingly, Burna Boy found the joke amusing and replied with a laughing emoji.
Reacting, another Twitter user who used Davido’s photo as his display picture, lambasted Burna Boy and criticized him for failing to win any Grammy awards despite bagging four nominations.
He replied, “Ode. Bottled 4 Grammys“.
Burna Boy spotted the comment and wrote, “The actual joke is in your Display pic” with a laughing emoji.
He implied that Davido is a joke.
