The Lagos State Government in collaboration with the Association of Certified Forensic Intelligence and Crime Analysts on Wednesday commenced a two-day workshop for 250 senior officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority in ‘Traffic Incident Management’ at the Police Training School, Ikeja Lagos.
LASTMA spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, in a statement, said the training was in line with the ongoing strategic re-positioning of operatives of the agency.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Olwaseun Osiyemi, during the training session, said the modules would be created to help LASTMA personnel make their jobs more effective.
He said, “The government is investing huge resources in training and re-training of LASTMA personnel to guarantee a refined and robust traffic management system as well as reduce traffic congestion across the state.
“We map out new re-training modules to aid effective execution of duties as well as enlighten our officers on new and innovative ways to optimise their operations in order to meet up with international standards and best practices in traffic management.”
Also present were the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Transportation, Olawale Musa, and the General Manager, LASTMA, Bakare Oki, among others.
In his remarks, the Commandant, Police Training School, Ishaq Salihu, said the training would boost the ability of LASTMA officers to manage traffic issues throughout the state.
