Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John, revealed this when she received the NESG team led by its Chief Executive Officer, Tayo Aduloju, at the Ministry in Abuja on Wednesday.
According to the statement signed by the spokesperson, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism, Joesef Karim, on Wednesday, the partnership would “ensure mutual commitment of parties to programmes and tasks intrinsic in the technical processes of reviewing, developing, and implementing a roadmap for the entrenchment of a sustainable tourism industry in Nigeria.”
Ade-John, noted that working with NESG will help “review government policies and provision of technical support in implementation of Nigeria tourism industry development roadmap.”
Aduloju stated that “NESG’s role is to optimize governance framework for the industry.”
The Director General NIHOTOUR, Nura Kangiwa, and the Director General of Nigeria Tourism Development Authority, Folorunsho Coker, were among those present at the meeting.
On February 6 2023, Ade-John launched a mobile culinary training kitchen for cooks across the country.
Ade-John noted that the project underscores “Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and highlights the government’s unwavering commitment to fostering growth, empowerment, and culinary excellence within our great nation.”
NESG is a leading private sector think-tank that supports government organs and agencies in formulating policies and implementing public programmes and projects.
Ade-John had earlier called on relevant stakeholders to develop, maintain and promote the nation’s tourism products.
She stated that the products required national and global publicity.
She also made calls for Nigeria’s tourism development at the commemoration of the 2023 World Tourism Day with the theme ” Tourism and Green Investment” in Abuja.
