Adama had been nominated by President Bola Tinubu who requested the Senate to confirm his appointment in line with the establishment Act of the NMDGIFB.
Tinubu had appointed a Governing Council of the Midstream and Downstream Gas Infrastructure Fund to be domiciled in the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
The Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Mr. Heineken Lokpobiri, was appointed as the council’s Chairman.
The resolution of the upper chamber followed its approval of the recommendation of the Committee on Gas and Petroleum Resources (Downstream) that screened Adama.
Also, the Red Chamber honoured the late Asagba of Asaba, Obi Joseph Edozien, and observed a minute’s silence.
The late monarch died aged 99.
The resolution of the Senate, however, followed a motion by Senator Ned Nwoko (PDP – Delta North) at plenary drawing his colleagues’ attention to the demise of the Asaba monarch.
