He enjoined them to be diligent in their studies so that their parents and families would not be disappointed at the end.
The VC gave the admonition in his address during the 30th and 31st matriculation ceremony of the university held at the permanent campus, Nwaniba Road Uyo on Friday.
He noted that the varsity is a nurturing ground for future leaders who will create impact in the world.
He said, “Say no to examination misconduct, no to cultism, for cultism is evil. Remember and note that indiscipline can hinder one’s overall growth and success.
“Obey rules and regulations of the university, uphold and promote the noble ideals, principles, and those values for which the University of Uyo is Known for.
“This great institution has long stood as a symbol of academic excellence and a nurturing ground for future leaders. The degrees of the University of Uyo are only awarded to deserving students who are found to be worthy in character and learning.
“Do not disappoint yourselves, your parents, your families, your state, your country, and of course humanity. Let the nurturing hands of the University of Uyo pass through you so that at the end you will be a liberated human being.”
