The rainstorm was said to have also destroyed electric poles and communication network masts in the community and rendered many residents homeless.
To this end, the state governor, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who visited the community on Saturday, promised timely assistance to the victims of the incident.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, who inspected the level of damages caused by the storm in the town, sympathised with the victims and promised that the government would come to their aid.
Accompanied by his deputy, Chief Olaide Adelami, and the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr Olamide Oladiji, the Governor also paid a visit to the residence of the deceased.
Earlier, at the palace of the monarch of Ita-Ogbolu, Governor Aiyedatiwa said he was saddened by the loss of life and the huge number of affected properties.
“The State Emergency Management Agency has been on the ground to compile and assess the affected houses and would ensure succour gets to the victims on time.”
“I want to sympathise with Kabiyesi and the people of Ita-Ogbolu on this unfortunate disaster. We thank God that it was not more than that. May God give the family of the one who lost her life the fortitude to bear the loss.
“The government has made arrangements for the disaster and I can assure you that we will do the needful when we see the detailed reports,” the governor said.
In a bid to forestall the future occurrence of such, Aiyedatiwa advised the residents to cultivate the habit of planting trees around their residential buildings so that it would serve as a windbreaker.
The traditional ruler of Ita-Ogbolu, Oba Idowu Faborode, expressed appreciation to the governor for the concern and show of love.
