Emeka Rollas has disowned a movie costumier accused of r3ping a 10-year-old girl.
Rollas who is the president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) said Prince Onyenwere is not their member.
The costumier was allegedly caught abusing the girl on a movie set in January.
He was thereafter handed over to the police after he was beaten for committing the alleged act.
Onyenwere was recently released by the police, sparking a wave of criticism on social media.
Rollas addressed the matter via the comment section of his Instagram page after a user asked why nobody was talking about the issue.
“Hello sir, thank you for this but there is an issue on ground. Why is nobody talking about the case of c_prince and the 10-year-old girl he raped on a movie production set, in Asaba, Delta state?” the user asked.
Replying to the comment, Rollas said Onyenwere is not a member of the AGN. He added that they had done their part by handing him over to the police.
“They are not members of my Guild please. You guys should stop. We took the guy to police and the little girl’s parents withdrew the case themselves so what should AGN do?” he responded.
The Delta state police command recently revealed why Onyenwere was released on bail.
Bright Edafe, the public relations officer of the Delta state police command, said the “mother of the victim compounded the entire case”.
The police spokesperson said the mother told the law enforcement agency that she and her family had forgiven the accused person.
Edafe said Onyenwere was released on “temporary bail” since the family refused to show up.
