The Old Student’s Association, Command Day Secondary School (CDSSJ), Maxwell Khobe Cantonment, Rukuba, Jos, (Jos Chapter), on Sunday, February 18th, 2024, held its much-anticipated election to usher in a new era of leadership.
Known as “Ex-Commandos,” with 19 registered members in attendance, held the electioneering process with interest as members exercised their democratic rights.
As a result, the following candidates emerged successful to lead the association in various capacities. The elected executives are Engr. Lawrence Ebeh (Set 1991), who won as the Chairman while the Vice Chairman went to Mr. Abduljelil Busari (Set 1993).
The post of the Secretary was won by Mr. Lucas John (Set 2007); while the Financial Secretary’s position went to Mr. Benjamin U. Friday (Set 1994). Similarly, the post of Treasurer was clinched by Mrs. Esther Benjamin (Set 1993); just as the Public Relations Officer (PRO 1) went to Mrs. Ruth Odumu (Set 2003).
Other elected officers include the Auditor 1, that went to Mr. Joseph Itoro (Set 1993) and the Director of Social was won by Mr. Eke Chibuke Sidney (Set 2012).
The Chairman of the Electoral Committee led by Mr. Josiah Benjamin, conducted a transparent election just as he expressed joy fulfilling his promise to ensure a fair and credible polls.
In his remarks, National President Emmanuel Onyeme expressed gratitude to all the members for their active participation and commitment to the association’s democratic process.
He congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to uphold the values of the “Ex-Commandos Association” while serving the members with diligence and dedication.
On their part, the newly elected executives pledged to work in unionism towards advancing the interests of the association and fostering unity among its members.
With wealth of experience and a shared commitment to excellence, the incoming leadership team is poised to steer the Jos Chapter to greater heights in the years ahead.
