Retired Lieutenant General Theophilus Danjuma has called on citizens to embrace change and collectively take the right actions that will ensure peace in the country.
Danjuma made this call during the inauguration of Daisy Danjuma Eye Hospital in Takum, Taraba State, on Friday.
He said, “Nigeria is the most important Black country in the world; people look up to us but right now, we are not behaving as leaders that we are, as a nation, we must change, it is time for us to change.
“And we must have peace in our land so the young men and women will not be running away to other places looking for jobs. There are no jobs anywhere outside here, in our country; they go abroad and suffer there.
“And there is nowhere in the world where the black man can have the quality of life you can get in this country. If only we do the right thing and doing the right thing is getting to ensure that there is peace.”
Speaking on the infrastructural improvement, ICT training, and attitudinal change to drive progress in the state and nation, he added, “Secondly to train our people and we cannot train people who do not go to school, and they will go to school only when there are teachers, teachers who are paid regularly.
“In the next few years Taraba State will be a different place, our state is very well endowed by nature with gold and rainfall and plenty of minerals to provide jobs for our people and invest in our land. May God bless our governors, traditional rulers and all the people who are helping to keep us together.”
