This was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, on Monday in Lokoja, the state capital.
Ofu local government is in Kogi East Senatorial District.
PUNCH Online learnt that his removal followed his alleged involvement in the diversion of the state government palliatives currently being shared with the citizens across the 21 local government areas of the state.
Ododo had warned against the diversion of the palliatives while speaking at the flag-off of the distribution last week.
He specifically asked all state government appointees to stay clear of the palliatives meant for the masses to cushion the effects of the ongoing economic hardships in the country.
“For those who might want to test out will by hoarding the palliatives, your are warned because we will not condone any act of indiscipline in the course of distribution,” the governor said.
In the same vein, Ododo approved the appointment of Musa Lawal as the Transition Chairman of Ofu Local Government Area with immediate effect.
“By this statement, you are directed to submit all government property in your possession to the new Transition Chairman,” the statement read.
The statement also directed Atawodi to hand over all the affairs of the council and submit a handing-over note to the new Transition Chairman immediately.
“The removal was in line with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s zero tolerance to any form of corruption in his administration,” Ayoade noted.
