Jungle while addressing newsmen shortly after embarking on the national protest declared by the national secretariat of the union, further called for distribution of palliatives.
The rally, which started from the secretariat of the union in the state, took the protesters through Miyetti Allah roundabout to the government house and terminated at the secretariat.
He appealed to the Federal Government to stop further devaluation of naira which he described as the genesis of the current economic hardship in the country.
“We thank God for the peaceful protest today, we appreciate the security for their support.
“We want to appeal to the government especially the Sokoto State government to as a matter of urgency pay wage awards to our members.
“We want the governor to also fulfill his promise by making palliatives available to the civil servants to curtail this hunger,” he added.
The national protest was joined by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the Nigerian Union of Journalists, and Medical and health workers practitioners among others.
