The federal government disclosed in 2023 that there are 15 million children in child labour in the
country. Children in Nigeria often exeprience worst forms of child labor, including in quarrying granite,
artisanal mining, commercial sexual exploitation, and use in armed conflict, each sometimes as a
result of human trafficking.
