A comic actor, Victor Osuagwu, has lamented that due to the current state of the country’s economy, actors were no longer getting as many jobs as they used to.
He told Sunday Scoop, “Actors are not getting jobs the way they used to before. Even when one seeks for sponsorship from corporate bodies and individuals, they say they don’t have money. Many of them are complaining. When there is no money, it affects filmmaking in our country. The government knows what the problem is, and they know what to do; but they have refused to solve it. Solving Nigeria’s problems starts from the leaders, not just the president.”
On what he has been up to lately, Osuagwu said, “I have been working but you cannot compare these days to those days where posters of our works were pasted everywhere. Now, everything is online. I do skits and I work with others too.”
