Obaseki said the state government has repositioned its healthcare delivery system to support and care for all Edo people.
The Edo EMS was done in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Emergency Response Africa.
Obaseki noted that the training of medical emergency responders is aimed at providing support services to the healthcare sector in the state.
He added that the feat is a testimony of the state government’s dedication and commitment to saving lives.
Obaseki commended the partners in the Edo EMS initiative, stressing the urgent need to decentralise the nation’s healthcare delivery system to ensure the Primary Health Care system works.
He said quality healthcare is expensive and harped on the need for the Emergency Response Initiative to be sustained in the state.
Obaseki added that promoting quality healthcare services is dear to the heart of the Edo government and assured that “this service we are launching today can and will be sustained.”
He added, “The idea behind these initiatives is to ensure healthcare gets to the citizens. The responders will be there in under two minutes to help any ailing citizen,” he added.
Obaseki pledged the government’s support to promote excellence in healthcare delivery in Edo and said the government is proud to be a critical partner in saving lives.
