Friends and dignitaries gathered to celebrate a former Governor of Rivers State and immediate past Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as he was called to Bar during the week.
Apparently, in a jolly mood, Amaechi’s friends flocked to his home to personally congratulate him and bear their special wishes to the new lawyer. Dressed as a lawyer in his black and white suit, Ameachi beamed with pride as he stood in the midst of his supporters who kept congratulating him. The room was filled with joy and laughter in the excitement of Amaechi’s accomplished dream
Amaechi graduated from Baze University, Abuja, last year after he returned to the university to pursue his dream as a lawyer.
In an earlier interview with Vanguard, the former governor spoke on his experience studying law in his fifties. He said, “Going back to obtain a Law degree at 57 is normal. I should have graduated a long time ago. When I hear people say I bought a degree, I just laugh. I laugh because until I started campaigning for the presidency I never missed a class. So for three years and six months, I never missed a class. And I came before all the lecturers and I came before all the students.”
Some notable personalities who congratulated Amaechi on his latest achievement included, the governor of Abia State; Alex Otti, a former governor of Imo State; Chukwuemeka Ihedioha, senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Ned Nwoko, Actor Osita Iheme and others
