The PUNCH reports that the late monarch, who reigned for two years, joined his ancestors at the age of 81 on Thursday at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, after a brief illness.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, described the death of late Oba Balogun as a monumental loss, not only for the people of Ibadan, but for the entire state.
The lawmaker, in a statement personally signed in Ibadan, sympathised with the family, friends, as well as subjects of the late Olubadan, who ascended the throne two years ago.
The Maye Balogun of Ibadanland said the news of Oba Balogun’s death sent shockwaves through the traditional and political spheres of Ibadanland.
