Aziegbemi was abducted by gunmen on Friday at about 11pm on Idaro Street, off Country Home Road, Benin, Edo State.
He was said to have left a meeting at the Government Bouse and was going home in his vehicle when he was waylaid and kidnapped in the presence of his driver, who was attempting to climb a speed breaker.
Adegboye, who spoke to journalists on Monday while parading some suspects, disclosed that the command’s operatives are on the trail of the kidnappers.
He said, “We have intensified our patrol. We were in the creeks on Sunday, around Ologbo, Obayantor, and other parts of the country.
“We are not leaving any stone unturned, we are already on the trail of the people that perpetrated that crime and I can assure you that in no distance time, we are going to rescue him unhurt.”.
The CP, however, noted that the command doesn’t give preferential treatment to any kidnapping victim or treat one as more important than others.
He added, “Crime is crime, victim is victim. I want to let you know that we care for all. We don’t want to profile victims as if one is special to the other.
“The governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki, is supporting us in this way. No victim is greater than other victims. That market woman is also as important as any other victim.”
