A statement by the Press Secretary in the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Mansurat Amuda-Kannike, said the
awardees were drawn from across the 16 local government areas of the state in various tertiary institutions in the country.
“We have started paying the bursary award of N10,000 to each of the successful applicants that have been graciously approved by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“The payment began on Wednesday, March 27 and will continue until we finish the disbursement. We are paying directly to their accounts for transparency and accountability.
“There are a few of these successful applicants whose account details are not correct. We will contact them,” the statement quoted the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Arinde, as saying.
The commissioner maintained that beneficiaries of the bursary allowances are Kwara students who had registered on the portal that the government opened for that purpose.
